Homeowners in Stoke Newington in north London are the most likely to have made a claim for theft or burglary on their home insurance policy, according to new research.
For every 1,000 people living in the N16 Stoke Newington postcode, almost 34 have had to make a theft related insurance claim, research by Moneysupermarket.com reveals.
London and Yorkshire are revealed as burglary hotspots. The highest proportion of burglary claims come in Streatham, while Wood Green and Mill Hill in the capital also feature high up the list.
Areas in Leeds, Bradford, Doncaster and Sheffield in Yorkshire also figure prominently. Apperley Bridge in Bradford, covering the postcode BD10, and West Bromwich in the West Midlands, with the postcode B71, recorded almost 32 claims per 1,000 people in the UK-wide burglary hotspots study.
